Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Vehicle Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at customers' locations across the UK. You will handle mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support, delivering quick, confident solutions and reassuring service.

You'll join a team with demand-led shifts around 40 hours weekly, optional overtime, and a structured development pathway including IMI accreditation and ongoing learning to grow your roadside expertise.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience
• Or 5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions and reassure members
• Work independently to diagnose faults and develop skills with modern diagnostic technology
• Provide customer‑facing service and support while strengthening the RAC's roadside capabilities
