Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside across the UK, delivering expert mechanical services and emergency breakdown support with a focus on customer reassurance.

Starting on your driveway, you’ll work demand-led shifts averaging around 40 hours per week with optional overtime. A structured development programme leads to IMI accreditation and ongoing growth within RAC.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and solve problems independently.
• Combine technical expertise with strong customer service.
