Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician for a field-based, nationwide breakdown service. The role is located in Dagenham with a base salary of £50,669 and an OTE well above £57,000, offering substantial bonus and overtime opportunities.

The position is permanent/full-time, with a 40-hour week, flexible shift patterns, and additional benefits including a pension match and life insurance. A valid UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair (or Level 3).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
