Job summary
Octane Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Roadside Technician (field-based) in Canterbury to support a national breakdown service. The role offers flexibility, a high base salary (£50,669) with OTE above £57k and potential to exceed £70k with overtime, bonuses, and benefits.
Typical shifts total 40 hours per week with advanced scheduling, possible early/late starts, and overnight stays. Benefits include a pension matching scheme, life insurance, and progression opportunities.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or Level 3 qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
- Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
Responsibilities
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs, including battery replacements and wheel changes.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
- Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible to ensure member mobility.
- Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
- Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
