Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician for a national breakdown company. This Superflex, field-based role is Northampton-based with a base salary of £50,669 and OTE in excess of £57,000, with potential to earn £70k–£80k+.

40 hours per week, varied shift pattern and overtime opportunities. Responsibilities include attending breakdowns, performing roadside repairs, using diagnostic tools, advising members, and ensuring safe operation.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, in workshop or mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs, including battery changes and wheel changes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible to maintain member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
