Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is partnering with a national breakdown company to hire a Roadside Technician. This field-based role offers a substantial basic salary with strong OTE potential and a flexible Superflex pattern.

You will attend roadside breakdowns, perform mechanical/electrical repairs at the roadside, and use diagnostic tools to assess faults, advising members on next steps and recovery if needed. Cheltenham-based.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 qualification.
Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
Must have a full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
