Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Roadside Technician for a field-based, Superflex role in Sunderland. You’ll support a national breakdown service, with a base salary of £50,669 and OTE in excess of £57,000, with potential to earn 70k+.

The role demands flexible scheduling, extended hours, and occasional overnight stays. The position offers overtime, pension, life insurance, training, and a car salary sacrifice scheme, with free breakdown cover for your household.

Qualifications

Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
Full UK driving licence with max 6 points and no bans.

Responsibilities

Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
