Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You will perform expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK, starting and finishing from your home base in the local area.

You’ll be equipped with RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit, delivering quick solutions while maintaining outstanding member service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside.
• We’ll set you up for success from day one, with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
