Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform expert roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will act as a trusted problem-solver with a strong automotive skillset and a commitment to first-time fixes.

Based in the Bromley cluster, you’ll start and end your day at home and handle demand-led shifts around 40 hours per week, with optional overtime. RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair automotive faults on the roadside.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver roadside repairs, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Manage fault-finding and fixes efficiently to get members back on the road.
• Provide calm, confident service while working solo at varying locations.
