Job summary

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician. You’ll perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK, starting and finishing each day at home.

You’ll need a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years in the field, plus a full UK driving licence with under 6 points. RAC provides a van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostics kit.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years’ experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support.
• Respond to calls and resolve faults quickly and confidently to get members back on the road.
• Work as part of RAC Patrol division with a local focus and home start/finish.
