Job summary

RAC Motoring Services in Barnsley is seeking a Roadside Technician to keep members on the move. You’ll diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs, and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK while starting and finishing your day at home.

The role offers a market-competitive base salary (£35,000) with an attractive OTE (£60,000) and optional overtime. You’ll receive a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, and a diagnostic kit, plus a range of benefits and career progression.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent), with proven technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• A customer-focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.
• You'll be equipped and ready for every call-out, with the tools, tech, and support to get the job done.
