Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will work independently to keep our members moving and safe, combining technical skill with strong customer service.

This role offers a structured development pathway, industry accreditation through IMI, and a benefits package that supports work-life balance and career growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults and offer quick, confident solutions to members
• Work independently to keep members moving and safe

Education
