Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, fix issues at the roadside and get members back on the road quickly with confidence and care.

Starting from home driveway or depots, you’ll work shifts averaging around 40 hours per week, with demand-led hours and optional overtime. A structured development programme leads to IMI accreditation and career progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly and safely.
• Make decisions, develop your skills and be equipped with what you need to succeed.

Education
