Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, repair on the roadside, and help members continue their journeys safely with confident, customer-focused service.

The role offers structured development, accreditation opportunities with IMI, and a path to long-term career growth within RAC’s Patrol division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience.
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical roadside repairs.
• Provide vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Offer quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
