Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, deliver quick solutions and help members continue their journeys with confidence.

Starting from your driveway, you’ll work 40-hour weeks with demand-led shifts and optional overtime, supported by a structured development programme and IMI accreditation opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Utilise the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and improve repair times.
