Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You will perform mechanical roadside repairs, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK, diagnosing faults and delivering quick, confident solutions to members.

You’ll work independently with the latest diagnostic tools, on demand-driven shifts averaging around 40 hours weekly and optional overtime. A structured development pathway and IMI accreditation opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to members in their moments of need.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly and safely.
