Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited seeks a Roadside Technician (field-based) to provide rapid roadside assistance across the UK. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs at the roadside, and support members to stay mobile.

The role requires a Level 2 (Level 3 preferred) in light vehicle maintenance and a valid UK driving licence, with at least two years of hands-on experience and a customer-focused approach. Shifts run 40 hours per week, 6am–12am, seven days a week, with overtime and bonus

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs, including battery replacements and wheel changes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible to keep members mobile.
• Advise members on next steps and recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Roadside Technician (field-based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: OTE: In Excess of £60,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

What you'll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
