Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) in Lancaster to provide roadside assistance for a national breakdown company. The role offers a strong base salary with earnable overtime and bonus opportunities as part of a permanent, full-time position.

You must have the right to work in the UK, with 2+ years hands-on vehicle experience and valid UK driving licence. Shifts span 6am–12am, 40 hours/week, with overtime options.

Qualificações

• Must have a Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.

Responsabilidades

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible to restore mobility.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely in varied environments and conditions.

Location: Lancaster

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: OTE: In Excess of £60,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role

What you'll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
