Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) to provide roadside assistance for a national breakdown company. The role is permanent/full-time in Hillingdon, with 40-hour weeks and overtime opportunities. Earn £36,400 base with OTE above £60k and potential 70–80k+.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: OTE: In Excess of £60,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role: 40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.

• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
