National Breakdown Company in Lancaster is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) to respond to breakdowns and support members nationwide. You will perform mechanical and electrical roadside repairs, diagnose faults with tools, and provide temporary solutions while ensuring safe working practices.

This permanent full-time role offers a base salary of £36,400 with OTE in excess of £60,000 and opportunities to earn 70–80k+.

Qualificações

• Must have Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Level 3 qualification preferred (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsabilidades

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery replacements, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: OTE: In Excess of £60,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

What you’ll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.
