Job summary

Roadside Technician (field-based) needed in Cambridge for a national breakdown company. Earn £36,400 with OTE in excess of £60,000 and up to £70,000–£80,000 in some cases.

Permanent/full-time role with 40 hours weekly, shifts 6am–12am, Mon–Sun. Overtime at x1.5 or fixed overtime at £30/hour; benefits and progression available.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles in workshop or mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence with max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns, assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible to keep members mobile.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: OTE: In Excess of £60,000, opportunity to earn 70-80k+

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12am, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are known 12 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and/or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home as soon as you start the van.

What you'll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
