Job summary

RAC is hiring a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic in Wimborne. You’ll diagnose faults, service and repair vehicles at roadside, and be the ambassador for RAC when assisting members. Expect a base salary of £50,669 with potential to earn up to £57,000, plus London Weighting where applicable.

Shifts span 06:00–02:00, with 40 hours per week and the promise of a clear roster ahead. You’ll receive a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, tools and diagnostic kit from day one, plus generous holidays, pension and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• You embrace flexibility. One moment it’s fault diagnostics, the next it’s a flat tyre or a flat battery - no two jobs are the same. You’ll manage your own kit, keep your van stocked, and handle your reports with precision.
• You know how to read a situation. Our Roadside Mechanics are trusted to make the call; finding the right fix, supporting each member, and keeping everyone moving.
