Job summary

The RAC is hiring a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic to deliver flexible, on-call roadside support across the South West region. You’ll diagnose faults, fix on the roadside, and keep customers moving with care.

Expect a core 40-hour week, shifts from 06:00 to 02:00, and a competitive base salary of £50,669, with earnings up to £57,000 through bonuses and overtime. You’ll receive a RAC van, fuel card and full uniform from day one.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• Customer-focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to work at relatively short notice and open to travel with overnight stays, if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform roadside repairs on vehicle breakdowns.
• Manage your own kit and keep the van stocked.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to RAC members.
