Kier Group is recruiting a Highways Maintenance Operative for our Bridgwater, Somerset team. The role covers responding to defects and emergencies, performing maintenance, and supporting winter operations to keep the road network safe.

The position is permanent and full-time, with salary £27,976 to £30,000 depending on experience plus call out and overtime. A full driving licence is essential, and applicants may be subject to safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Responding to defects and emergencies on the highway, ensuring updates are provided through tablet devices and installing traffic management signage where needed.
• Carrying out minor improvement works and routine maintenance to enhance the road network.
• Operating a variety of plant and equipment safely and effectively to complete your duties.
• Using tablet devices to accurately record works and maintain clear communication with the team and clients.
• Supporting winter maintenance activities and severe weather operations when required.
