Job summary

White Recruitment Limited are recruiting a Road Freight Operator in Leeds to join their Import & Export team. The role covers day-to-day management of Import and Export shipments, building strong customer relationships and ensuring freight moves efficiently from start to finish.

You will handle quotations, customs entries, liaise with customers and suppliers, prepare shipping docs, and mentor junior team members as required.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in freight forwarding, especially road freight operations.
• Strong knowledge of Import/Export procedures.
• Experience with customs documentation and entries.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good IT skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage road freight Import and Export shipments from start to finish.
• Prepare freight quotations and calculate costs.
• Create jobs and complete relevant customs entries.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and overseas partners.
• Prepare and check shipping and customs documentation.
• Handle invoicing and related administration.
• Monitor shipments and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
