Job summary

WR Logistics in the United Kingdom is seeking a Road Freight Operations Coordinator to own the full shipment lifecycle from quotation to delivery. The role is hybrid in nature, combining office-based coordination with two days from home once fully trained.

You will manage import and export road shipments, coordinate groupage, LTL and FTL movements, liaise with subcontractors and customers, monitor shipments and prepare commercial quotations for viable solutions.

Road Freight Operations Coordinator

Salary: £27,000-£35,000 + Financial KPI Incentives

Location: Wythenshawe

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Working pattern: Hybrid - 2 days from home once fully trained

Are you a road freight operator who enjoys being involved in the whole shipment, rather than just one part of the process?

We're working with an award‑winning, employee‑owned freight forwarding group that is continuing to grow its road freight operation.

They're looking for an experienced Road Freight Operator / Road Freight Coordinator who understands the full shipment lifecycle - from initial quotation through to final delivery - and enjoys working in a busy, commercially focused environment.

This is a hands‑on role within a growing team, so it would suit someone who is energetic, commercially aware and enjoys taking ownership rather than simply processing shipments.

What will you be doing?

You’ll take responsibility for the full operational lifecycle of road freight movements, including:

• Managing import and export road freight shipments from quotation through to delivery
• Arranging and coordinating groupage, LTL and FTL movements
• Working with subcontractors and transport partners to secure the right solutions
• Monitoring shipments and proactively dealing with any issues or delays
• Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams throughout the shipment lifecycle

What are we looking for?

The key requirement is genuine road freight forwarding experience.

Ideally, you’ll have experience across both imports and exports, with a good understanding of:

• Groupage / LTL / FTL
• Subcontracting and carrier management
• Road freight quotations
• Shipment monitoring and tracking
• Customs and cross-border movements
• End-to-end freight forwarding operations
