Job summary

White Recruitment Construction is seeking an experienced Road Freight Operator to join our client’s busy freight forwarding team in the UK. You will manage road shipments from booking through to delivery, keep customers updated, and work with hauliers and overseas partners.

Ideal candidates will be organised, able to handle multiple shipments, confident communicating with customers and suppliers, and familiar with UK and European road freight documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in road freight operations or freight forwarding.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously and to prioritise tasks.
• Comfortable communicating with customers, hauliers and overseas partners.
• A good eye for detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Arranging and coordinating UK and European road freight shipments.

• Preparing and checking relevant shipping and customs documentation.
• Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates.

• Ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and within deadlines.

Road Freight Operator

Our client is an established freight forwarding business specialising in road freight across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Road Freight Operator to their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience within road freight who enjoys a busy operational role and is confident dealing with customers, hauliers and overseas partners.

Hours: Monday to Friday

The Role

You will be responsible for managing road freight shipments from booking through to delivery, ensuring everything runs smoothly and customers are kept fully updated throughout the process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Arranging and coordinating UK and European road freight shipments
• Booking transport with hauliers and subcontractors
• Liaising with customers, suppliers and overseas partners
• Preparing and checking relevant shipping and customs documentation
• Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates
• Obtaining and negotiating transport rates where required
• Tracking deliveries and dealing with any issues or delays
• Updating internal systems and maintaining accurate shipment records
• Ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and within agreed deadlines
• Preparing and providing competitive freight quotations and pricing for customers
• Building strong working relationships with customers and transport partners

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within road freight operations
