Job summary

Tarmac in Birtley is seeking a Customer Service Coordinator for the ReadyMix division on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will process orders, schedule deliveries and provide customers with updates while ensuring a safe, efficient transport operation.

You will work with transport, logistics and production teams, coordinate third-party haulage, and build relationships with suppliers. The role is Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday mornings.

We're looking for a Customer Service Coordinator to join our ReadyMix team in Birtley. You'll play a key role in processing customer orders, coordinating deliveries and ensuring a safe, efficient and customer-focused transport operation.

What you'll be doing

• Receiving and processing ReadyMix concrete orders
• Scheduling deliveries to meet customer requirements
• Providing customers with updates and outstanding service
• Working closely with transport, logistics and production teams
• Coordinating third-party haulage and ensuring compliance standards are met
• Building strong relationships with haulage suppliers and stakeholders
• Supporting medium and long-term planning to meet customer demand

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 7am – 5pm. Rotational Shift Pattern (7-4pm & 8-5pm) Saturday Mornings Rotational if required

What we're looking for

• Experience in customer service, transport, logistics, distribution or route planning
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent or ganis organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Commercial awareness and a customer-focused mindset
• Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office (SAP and CRM experience desirable)
• A proactive approach with a desire to learn and improve
