Job summary

Cadent Gas is seeking a Risk and Assurance Support Officer to bolster risk, assurance and compliance across Capital Delivery projects and the supply chain. You will help design and deliver second-line assurance activities, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement across processes.

You will collaborate with the Risk, Reporting and Assurance team to ensure robust assurance programmes, timely recommendations and clear reporting that support regulatory and business performance.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Lead or Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001) or equivalent internal auditor training.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design and delivery of second-line assurance activities across Cadent's Capital Delivery process and supply chain.
• Help ensure assurance programmes are robust and recommendations lead to meaningful improvements in performance and compliance.

As ourRisk and Assurance Support Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of risk and assurance activities across Cadents Capital Delivery projects and our supply chain. This isn't just about auditing processes, it's about helping the business identify risks, improve controls and drive continuous improvement across operational activities.

Working closely with the Risk, Reporting and Assurance team, you'll support the planning, design and delivery of second-line assurance activities across Cadents Capital Delivery process and our supply chain/contract partners. You'll help ensure assurance programmes are robust, risks are effectively managed and recommendations lead to meaningful improvements in performance and compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys analysing information, investigating issues and working collaboratively with stakeholders to improve business processes and outcomes.

What you'll bring:

• Assurance Experience – Knowledge of assurance, auditing, risk management or compliance activities within a regulated environment.
• Analytical Skills – Ability to assess information, identify trends and provide practical recommendations.
• Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Management – Ability to build effective working relationships across operational and corporate teams.
• Continuous Improvement Mindset – Passion for identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and business performance.
• Regulatory Awareness – Understanding of relevant legislation, standards and assurance frameworks.
• Problem-Solving Ability – Confidence investigating issues and supporting effective resolution.

Qualifications:
