Job summary

Law Staff is seeking a detail-driven Risk and Compliance Lawyer with 2–6 years' experience to join our Hertfordshire/Essex border client. The role covers data protection, AML, regulatory compliance and risk management.

You will handle day-to-day data protection matters, respond to subject access requests, assist onboarding, perform AML/KYC checks and support risk and complaints processes in a fast-paced law firm.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years experience within a law firm.
• Law degree or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Willing to learn and develop within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities for this Risk and Compliance Lawyer role:

• Handling day to day data protection compliance matters
• Managing subject access requests and supporting the response to potential data breaches
• Supporting the firms onboarding processes
• Conducting AML and KYC checks
• Assist with ongoing AML compliance in line with UK regulatory requirements
• Manage and respond to risk queries
• Supporting and drafting responses to client complaints
• File audits
• Compliance reviews

• Experience between 2- 6 years within a law firm
• Law degree or equivalent
