Law Staff Ltd is recruiting a Risk and Compliance Lawyer for a role on the Hertfordshire/Essex border. The position targets professionals with 2–6 years in a similar role and offers hybrid working after probation.

The role focuses on data protection, AML, regulatory compliance and risk management within a busy legal practice. You will handle data protection matters, manage subject access requests, support onboarding, perform AML/KYC checks, and assist with client complaints and audits.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years' experience within a law firm.
• Law degree or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Willing to learn and develop within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Handling day to day data protection compliance matters
• Managing subject access requests and supporting the response to potential data breaches
• Supporting the firm's onboarding processes
• Conducting AML and KYC checks
• Assist with ongoing AML compliance in line with UK regulatory requirements
• Manage and respond to risk queries
• Supporting and drafting responses to client complaints
• File audits
• Compliance reviews
