Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Cleaning Operative to join the team at Translink, Belfast. The role is a night shift, 40 hours per week, five nights out of seven, with shifts from 21:00 to 05:00.

You will perform cleaning to high standards, follow COSHH guidelines, and operate cleaning equipment under supervision. A clean driving licence is preferred, with reliability and attention to detail essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned to required standards, including weekly tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with COSHH guidelines.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment as trained.
• Report faulty equipment immediately and tag as such.
• Ensure safety signage is used and floors are dry to prevent slips.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely.

Working Pattern:

• 40 hours per week

• Shifts Start at 21.00pm to 5.00am

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and 'warn' customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times

The Person:

• Self-motivated, working independently and on own initiative to ensure set tasks completed
• Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.
• A clean driving license is required for the role
• Good time-management skills
• Attention to detail in all aspects of the work.

• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
