Job description

Job Title: Revenues Officer

Our client is seeking an experienced Revenues Officer to manage accounts related to council tax and business rates arrears.

  1. Dealing with customers in arrears, making payment arrangements, and chasing missed payments.
  2. Managing accounts before and after Liability Orders are granted.
  3. Handling accounts at Enforcement Agents.
  4. Identifying appropriate actions for each debt account, including moving accounts to charging orders, bankruptcy, or other legal actions following Liability Orders.
  5. Communicating with debtors via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
  6. Utilizing Northgate systems experience is essential.
  7. IRRV qualification is highly desirable.
  8. Possessing strong communication skills to listen, understand, and explain complex issues clearly.
  9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  10. Handling daily interactions with the public regarding debt issues related to Council Tax and Business Rates.
