We are looking for an experienced administrator or customer service advisor to join us as a Revenues Officer. Working from home but as part of a wider friendly and supportive team, you will provide administrative support to the council and their residents to ensure that their systems are kept up to date with the most accurate information and their residents are receiving the best possible service
This role will provide the right person with scope to learn and progress whilst also allowing them to apply their skills in a rewarding and interesting setting.

What you'll be doing:
- Check Revenues, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support accounts and claims to see if they have all the information and evidence they need.
- Change computer records with claim information and collect information from customers.
- Work on Revenues, Housing and Council Tax Support accounts and claims following the rules and client needs.
- Make sure the right documents are filled in and that all work is clear and follows the procedures.
- Reach targets with agreed accuracy levels.
- Occasionally, talk to customers in person, giving them correct information in a positive way. Call other organisations, such as Her Majesty's Revenues and Customs and the Department for Work and Pensions.
- Be careful of accuracy, finding fraudulent claims and spotting under or overpayments of Housing Benefit and making sure Revenues accounts are right.
What we're looking for:- Experience in either an administrative or customer service based role
- Previous council tax experience essential
- Great communication skills both written and verbal
- Good IT skills
- The ability to manage and prioritise own workload
- Good customer focus
- Good attention to detail
