Tate are working with a local authority in their search for a Council Tax & Revenues Officer to join their team in a remote-working role.
You will take ownership of accounts, deliver a responsive service to citizens and businesses, and help maximise collection while treating each customer's circumstances fairly.
The role Administer Council Tax and Business Rates accounts, ensuring accurate and prompt billing, collection and recovery.
Obtain and assess information to determine local taxation liability in accordance with legislation, including discounts, reliefs and exemptions.
Accurately update and maintain revenues databases.
Respond appropriately to enquiries from citizens, businesses and agents, and action amendments to accounts.
Agree repayment plans and determine appropriate recovery action, taking account of individual circumstances while maximising collection.
Contribute ideas to improve working practices, procedures, service delivery and performance.
Support the training and coaching of colleagues, including the induction of new staff.
What you'll bring Extensive experience of processing Council Tax accounts with minimal guidance.
Recovery experience in Council Tax is essential.
Thorough understanding of Council Tax legislation.
Confident and competent user of NEC and Enterprise systems.
Strong accuracy, judgement and customer-service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
