Job summary

CrossCountry Trains in Birmingham is seeking a Revenue Management Analyst to drive commercial success and enhance customer experience. You will manage pricing and seat availability for a key route, shaping revenue strategies in a data-driven environment.

The role requires strong analytics, SQL and Python, and proficiency with Power BI/Tableau to communicate insights to a broad audience. Hybrid working with 3 days in the Birmingham office and 2 days at home.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of revenue management concepts, theories, techniques, and related systems.
• Experience presenting numerical information to diverse audiences.
• Excellent analytical skills with large datasets and KPI-focused mindset.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Tableau for analytics.
• SQL knowledge with Python for data processing and automation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proactive and commercially minded with a focus on revenue optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Effectively managing price and seat availability, interpreting short term demand and supply data to adjust availability of discounted ticket quotas to maximise revenue and minimise overcrowding.
• Extract and interpret key data to identify opportunities and areas of improvement for your assigned route. Propose actions to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
• Use revenue management systems to manage and automate business policies for a portfolio of trains in terms of loadings, reservations, revenue, and competition.
• Review feedback on crowding and reservations from wider business and implement actions, as necessary.
• Assist in producing weekly and periodic reporting to be shared internally within the wider commercial team as well as externally within the organisation.
• Act as a commercial partner for a region, providing insight and recommendations as well as gathering feedback and suggestions on how to improve revenue in that area.
