Job summary

Intertek is offering a maternity cover contract of 15 months for a Retail Embedded Support role, working with a major retailer across Softlines and Hardlines. You will be the primary contact for head office queries, coordinating testing, inspection bookings and quality standards while supporting project delivery with Intertek teams.

The position requires 2-3 days on client site and the remainder from home, in a hybrid arrangement in Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
• Strong organisational skills and time management to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
• Textile testing background is a big advantage.
• Experience in TIC industry or with retailers is beneficial.
• Experience in textiles or toys is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Be the lead focal point for queries from the retailer head office staff.
• Coordinate with Intertek and the retailer systems; field enquiries and progress chase.
• Assist Buying and Technical teams on product quality and standards.
• Collaborate with Account Manager and Embedded Support team on quality initiatives.
• Facilitate communication across the Intertek network to meet deadlines.
• Update and review quality manuals and specifications; introduce best practices.
• Produce KPI reports and highlight trends for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate testing and inspection requests and bookings.
• Respond to information requests promptly from retailer and Intertek colleagues.
• Promote Intertek services and best practices within the retailer team.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity to join Intertek as a Retail Embedded Support, working directly with a major retailer across Softlines and Hardlines products. You will act as a key point of contact for the retailer’s Head Office teams, providing day-to-day support across product quality, standards, testing and inspection. Working closely with the retailer, Intertek Account Manager, Embedded Support team and Technical colleagues, you will help coordinate requests, manage testing and inspection bookings, respond to queries and ensure key projects and programmes are delivered within agreed timescales. to cover a maternity leave for a 15 month contract, with 2-3 days working in the client's offices and the rest working from home.

Key activities:

• Being the lead focal point for queries from the retailer’s head office staff
• Working with both Intertek and the retailer systems.
• Fielding enquiries, progress chasing and general assistance to the Buying and Technical teams
• Working with Intertek’s Account Manager, Embedded Support team and Technical colleagues to help the retailer with areas of product quality and standards
• Participate in and facilitate communication between the retailer and the wider Intertek network to ensure key projects and programmes are delivered within agreed timelines.
• Updating and reviewing quality manual and quality specifications and introducing best working practices
• Produces reports on KPIs and highlights any trends and recommends areas to deliver continuous improvement – in a timely manner
• Facilitating Testing and Inspection requests and bookings
• Dealing with requests for information in a timely manner from the retailer and Intertek's colleagues by acting as a central point of contact
• Promoting Intertek services and all best practices possible within the retailer’s team
