Job summary

COOK is seeking a Retail Team Member in Sevenoaks to join our supportive shop environment and serve customers with warmth and knowledge. The role focuses on delivering excellent service, helping with menu planning, and ensuring the shop remains clean and well-stocked.

You will operate the till, handle paperwork and cash, and support deliveries and stock checks. A smart appearance with apron and name badge is required, and enthusiasm for food is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing retail is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn COOK product range and promotions.
• Ability to work 16 hours per week on a fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide remarkable service, prioritizing the customer.
• Assist customers with menu planning and catering for occasions.
• Keep the shop immaculate, stock replenished, and freezers full.
• Operate the till accurately.
• Understand shop paperwork and basic legal checks.
• Open the shop and close it, cash up.

Retail Team Member - Sevenoaks

Location: Sevenoaks
Hours: 16 Hours (Fixed Term)
Pay rate: £13.45 per hour

There's more to COOK than food: our shops play active roles in the communities they serve and that is thanks to the warmth, knowledge and care of our Retail Team. We are looking for remarkable people to join us who can host customers in the shop just like they would at home.

The Role

• Offer remarkable service, the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
• Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
• We are a food business - make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
• Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
• Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
• Open up the shop. Close the shop and cash up.
• Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.
• Look smart with apron, and name badge on at all times.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary but previous experience of working in Retail or in a customer facing role would be the icing on the cake.
