Job summary

Artemis Clarke Ltd. is seeking friendly staff to join the COOK team in Berkhamsted. This part-time role fits 12–16 hours weekly, supporting in-store customer service, stock control, and till operations. Full training will be provided, and you’ll help create a welcoming shop environment.

You’ll engage customers, discuss promotions, and help with stock checks while upholding brand standards and daily shop routines.

Qualifications

• No formal experience required; training provided.
• Customer-facing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Offer remarkable service; prioritise the customer.
• Help plan menus or catering for occasions; discuss offers and promotions.
• Keep the shop immaculate, restock, rotate stock and ensure freezers are full.
• Operate the till accurately and efficiently.
• Understand shop paperwork and necessary checks.
• Open and close the shop and perform cash-up.
• Check deliveries, place orders, and assist with stock takes.

About the Role

Location: Berkhamsted
Hours: 12-16 Hours
Pay rate: £13.45 per hour

Join Our Retail Team! There's more to COOK than food: our shops play active roles in the communities they serve and that is thanks to the warmth, knowledge and care of our Retail Team. We are looking for remarkable people to join us who can host customers in the shop just like they would at home.

The Role

• Offer remarkable service, the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
• Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
• We are a food business - make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
• Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
• Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
• Open up the shop. Close the shop and cash up.
• Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.
• Look smart with apron, and name badge on at all times.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary but previous experience of working in Retail or in a customer facing role would be the icing on the cake.
