Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is seeking a Retail Team Leader to run our castle gift shops, ensuring smooth daily operations, high store standards and creative revenue opportunities. You will coach and motivate a team, drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service across multiple outlets.

This fixed-term role runs to January 2028, with 5 days on-site including weekends and bank holidays, plus evening shifts. Proactivity and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Retail Supervisor or Team Leader (desirable)
• Pro-activity in an operational setting with problem solving skills
• Experience in a fast-paced customer facing environment
• Experience organising, motivating, and coaching a team
• Passion for retail with a keen eye for detail
• Confident using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across retail outlets and ensure store standards.
• Oversee stock control and visual merchandising to maximise sales.
• Conduct food hygiene audits and maintain shop upkeep.
• Coach and motivate team to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Identify and explore new revenue opportunities within the outlets.

What you'll bring to the team

Fancy helping us to unleash over 1000 years of excitement, discovery and jaw dropping unique experiences for our guests? Come work in a castle as a Retail Team Leader and start your greatest adventure!

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and driven individual to take charge of our retail gift shops. As a Retail Team Leader, you'll ensure smooth daily operations, maintain high store standards and unleash your creativity to explore new and exciting revenue opportunities.

In this role, you'll be more than just a leader, you'll be a coach, a motivator and a key player in driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service. With no two days the same, you'll be involved in everything from stock control and visual merchandising to food hygiene audits and shop upkeep.

This is a 64-acre site with units positioned all around this area which has different gradients, the successful applicant would be required to be positioned at all retail outlets and be comfortable in doing so.

This will be a fixed term (contracted to January 2028), working over 5 days, which will include weekends and bank holidays, plus evening shifts.
