Job summary

B&M Retail in Reading is seeking a confident Retail Security Officer for a full-time, permanent role. You will help safeguard people and stock, operate CCTV, and support health & safety while delivering a welcoming customer experience.

The role offers daytime, evening, and weekend shifts, with scope across the store team and opportunities for development within a growing national retailer. Require alertness, reliability, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in security or customer-facing roles preferred but not essential.
• Strong sense of responsibility and a customer-first mindset.
• Alert and calm under pressure.
• Able to follow procedures and remain composed.
• Good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents.
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies.
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures.
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud.
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively.
