Job summary

B&M Retail Limited in Reading is seeking a confident Retail Security Officer to safeguard people, products, and the store while delivering a welcoming customer experience.

You will work with the Store Management Team to prevent loss, manage risk, and maintain high safety standards. This is a full-time, permanent role with daytime, evening and weekend shifts to fit varied schedules.

• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively.

Join our team in Reading and make a real difference!

In this role, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you’ll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team.

What you’ll be doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively
