Job summary

ASEL in Taunton is seeking a Retail Security Officer to provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, and complete incident reports in-store. The role requires a valid SIA licence and offers full training where needed.

You will perform guarding duties, liaise with local authorities, and support customers and colleagues. Relief shifts provide varied hours with in-store responsibilities across Taunton.

Qualifications

• You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role.
• Previous experience in Retail Security is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
• Applicants must provide a full 5-year checkable work or education history and bring right-to-work documents and proof of address.
• You must have a current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence to apply for this role.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity.
• Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimise risk.
• Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable.
• Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to not cause distress.
• Completing colleague and contractor searches when required in line with policy.
• Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
• Detailed and legible incident reporting to assist the Client and Local Authorities.
