Job summary

Staffline, in partnership with TSS, is recruiting for a Retail Security Officer in Plymouth. The role offers an hourly pay rate of £14.50 to £17.00 with day shifts and weekend availability.

The officer will deter unauthorized activity, assist with loss prevention, and ensure safety for staff and visitors on site. Applicants must hold an SIA licence (SG/DS) and be comfortable using digital devices for admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent to enhance safety.
• Carry out policy on loss prevention and ensure staff and visitor safety.
• Deter troublemakers on site and observe/report incidents.
• Maintain up-to-date site knowledge and follow evacuation procedures.
• Support client with searches if required by the client.
• Keep security base clean and well-presented.

Position: Retail Security Officer

Location: Plymouth

Pay Rate: £14.50-£17.00 per hour

Hours: Various

Shifts: Day shifts, applicants must be available to work weekends

SG / DS SIA licence required.

Your Time at Work

• Providing a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
• Carrying out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensuring the safety of staff and visitors
• Lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• Observing and reporting incidents using the correct reporting systems
• Carrying out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• Ensuring site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at the local level are identified
• Understanding and implementing any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• Assisting, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• Ensuring that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• Conducting yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring a full uniform is worn and the SIA licence is clearly displayed
