Job summary

John Lewis & Partners in Trafford, Manchester, is seeking a Customer Assistant for up to 20 hours per week on a temporary basis. You will deliver outstanding customer service, maintain shop standards and support with till and stock tasks.

You will work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends. DBS checks may apply; night premium of £3.75 per hour for hours 22:00–06:00.

Qualifications

• Essential: Basic IT literacy.
• Desirable: Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed but not essential; training provided.
• Desirable: Merchandising and product displays experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inspirational customer service at every stage of the customer journey.
• Use product knowledge and training to drive sales and increase profits for the Partnership.
• Put the customer at the heart of everything you do and resolve queries.
• Work flexibly across the shop to support the wider team (till, stock, pricing, housekeeping).
• Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
• Help protect profits with accurate stock counts.
