Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Customer Assistant to deliver outstanding service within one of our shops. You’ll contribute to first-class in-store experiences, maintain shop standards, and help customers with their needs across varied hours including early starts, evenings and weekends.

You will use product knowledge to drive sales, support with till tasks, stock replenishment and merchandising, building loyalty and ensuring a welcoming retail environment.

Qualifications

• Basic IT literacy.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed but not essential.
• Merchandising and product displays experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inspirational customer service at every stage of the customer journey.
• Use product knowledge and training to drive sales and profits for the Partnership.
• Put the customer at the heart of everything you do and resolve queries.
• Work flexibly across the shop to support the wider team, including till support, stock replenishment, price ticketing and general shop-keeping tasks.
• Identify areas of improvement and implement solutions.
• Help protect profits by supporting with accurate stock counts.
