Job Description

Reporting to the National Retail Manager and working closely with three other Retail Area Managers, you’ll be a people-centric and collaborative leader, energised by the opportunity to drive performance, build capability, and lead future growth as we expand our retail network in the Southern region.

You’ll oversee a multi-site operation spanning 15 stores from Rangiora to Invercargill, with regular travel required to provide hands-on support and stay connected with your teams. You’ll champion growth of the retail division, strength partnerships, and elevate the success of Hato Hone St John Opportunity Shops. The revenue you help generate will directly support life-saving initiatives and enhance community wellbeing across Aotearoa.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in managing multi-site retail operation
  • Strong people leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing remote teams
  • High resilience and readiness to tackle challenges head-on
  • Ability to manage staff with varying levels of capability
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of professional business practices in a retail environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make quick, effective decisions
  • Experience in second-hand retail and leading volunteers would be advantageous
  • Confident in managing stakeholders' expectations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence
