Job summary

Umami is seeking a Front of House Receptionist to manage the reception area, answer calls and emails, and take reservations. You will ensure guests' needs are met and assist with the smooth running of the FOH team during service.

You will greet and seat guests, handle bookings, maintain washroom stocks, and report issues to management. The role requires clear English, professional conduct, and teamwork to support colleagues across busy service periods.

Qualifications

• Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• A good standard of spoken and written English is required to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
• Very high customer satisfaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Be professional and presentable at all times.
• Greets and seats guests accordingly.
• Perform daily opening and closing duties accordingly.
• Provide standardize and basic restaurant services to guest's by face to face or over the phone.
• Be polite and helpful while greeting the customers at the reception.
• Use her/his professionalism whilst speaking with guest over the phone to answer queries/take bookings.
• Take roaster to maintain the cleanness of the washroom and top-up all supplies to their par stock.
• Report to management on duty if any further inquiry or complaint receives from customers which needs immediately attention for our feedback.
• Demonstrate a strong team-working spirit by supporting colleagues when required and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant throughout service.
• Ensure pagers are charged at all times
• Administer all reservations, cancellations and no-shows in line with company policy
