Job summary

Ginger Recruitment Services Ltd in Peterborough is seeking a hands-on Restaurant and Bar Manager to lead a busy hotel and resort operation. You will run day-to-day restaurant and bar services, briefings and staffing, while driving guest satisfaction and upselling opportunities.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication and a commercial mindset, with the ability to manage events including weddings, conferences and private functions.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience within a hotel, restaurant, bar or wider hospitality environment.
• Strong practical experience across restaurant and bar operations, ideally within a busy hotel or resort.
• Confident leading, motivating and developing Front of House teams.
• Excellent guest service skills with the ability to handle feedback professionally.
• Commercially aware with upselling, labour control, stock management and revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the restaurant and bar.
• Lead the team through daily briefings, service and close down, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities.
• Allocate staffing effectively according to reservations, business levels, events and operational requirements.
• Maintain consistently high standards across service, presentation, product knowledge and guest engagement.
• Work closely with the kitchen and pass to coordinate food service, timings, dietary requirements and communication.
• Drive sales through upselling of food, drinks, experiences and special offers.
• Manage guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring appropriate service recovery and follow up.
• Recruit, train, coach and develop team members, supervisors and future managers.
• Support weddings, conferences, private functions and special events across the hotel.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen, health and safety, fire, COSHH and licensing requirements.
