Hampshire Hospitals NHS is seeking a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist for a fixed term role covering maternity leave in the Upper GI Cancer team. An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Band 6 in our Upper GI Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team. This position is Maternity Leave cover between September 2024 and July 2025.
Candidates should be forward thinking, be able to demonstrate good clinical and assessment skills and have an understanding of the National Optimal Pathways for Upper GI Cancers.
The post holder will need to demonstrate excellent communication and decision making skills, and have the ability to deliver Compassionate Care within a complex demanding environment. A commitment to person centred care are essential qualities for this post.
You will need to demonstrate Continuing Professional Development and have an understanding of the impact of cancer on patients and their relatives.
If you are dedicated to improving the patient experience during their Cancer Journey and motivated to progress your career as a Clinical Nurse Specialist then this complex clinical area will enhance your job satisfaction by developing your specialist skills.
Upper GI experience is desirable in conjunction with education to degree level or working towards the attainment of a degree. Expressions of interest from those working within a role involving the care of patients affected by cancer within the community will also be considered.
